(posted April 23, 2011)With the Founding Committee of Yisrael Aumann, Sergiu Hart, and Ehud Lehrer, the Game Theory Society has an Israeli Chapter since April 2012. David Schmeidler is the first President of the Chapter. It is open to all GTS members interested in its activities. Award of the
Michael
Maschler Prize for an outstanding research student.
The Israeli Chapter of the Game Theory Society is happy to announce that Yehuda (John) Levy, a Ph.D. student at the Hebrew University, is the recipient of the 2012 Maschler prize for an outstanding research student in Israel. The prize ceremony will take place on May 7, during the game theory conference that we will be held at Tel Aviv. At the conference Yehuda will give a talk describing his research.
Online Game Theory Class
(mailed to GTS members by Federico Valenciano on 24 February 2012)Matthew Jackson and Yoav Shoham are launching an online game theory class that is free and open to the public. It is a six week introductory class covering some basics of game theory, and will begin shortly. It already has eighty thousand students, but is still open to enrollment. 4th Congress GAMES 2012 of the Game Theory Society in Istanbul

the Fourth Congress of the Game Theory Society will take place Sunday July 22 - Thursday July 26, 2012, in Istanbul, Turkey.
The webpage for submissions to the congress of the Game Theory Society is now open, at http://games2012.bilgi.edu.tr/
and it will also be reachable via the GTS conferences webpage http://www.gametheorysociety.org/conferences/#games2012
If you intend to submit a paper, you may already now click on "Paper Submission - Please Click here" which will take you to the Conference Maker webpage for the congress where you can enter or amend your details, for later submission of your paper.
The submission deadline is February 1, 2012, with notification of decisions by March 1, 2012. The deadline for early registration is April 15, 2012.
Members of the Game Theory Society pay a registration fee of 260 Euros (with a reduced rate of 130 Euros for students and members from low-income countries). Non-members pay a fee of 370 Euros and will therefore profit from joining the Society from 2012 onwards, so please encourage prospective participants to join the GTS for 2012 if they have not done so already.

The conference organizer is Jean Andre Augustin Laine, who has taken over from Remzi Sanver, and we thank Jean for the hard work he is putting into the organization of the congress in Istanbul.
